Caetano Kenya, a leading automobile dealership with strong Portuguese backing, has escalated its endeavors to boost the sales of Ford Motor vehicles in Kenya, positioning itself as a key player for the second-largest American automaker in the country. This heightened focus follows the formalization of a lucrative agreement that grants Caetano Kenya exclusive distribution rights for Ford vehicles in the Kenyan market.

In a significant development this week, Caetano Kenya, which represents a consortium of companies under the ownership of the Portuguese group Salvador Caetano, proudly unveiled a state-of-the-art Ford Showroom on Mombasa Road. This cutting-edge showroom is poised to function as a central hub for the sales and maintenance of Ford vehicles, showcasing a commitment to providing a premium customer experience.

The recent partnership between Ford and Caetano marks a strategic collaboration, opening up new opportunities for both entities to strengthen their foothold and broaden their market presence in Kenya. This venture is expected to bring forth innovative approaches and solutions, catering to the evolving automotive landscape in the region.

Leveraging Caetano’s extensive network and proficiency in marketing and selling esteemed brands in this region, this partnership holds significant promise. Caetano, with its renowned reputation, has already initiated a robust sales campaign, unveiling the latest versions of the Ranger, Raptor, Everest, and the Ford Transit Bus.

Previously, the Ford franchise in Kenya was under the purview of CMC Motors.

Pedro Campos, the Managing Director of Caetano Kenya, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are proud to add Ford to our stable of brands. Ford is a standout performer in the SUV and Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) segments in this market, and we anticipate our collaboration will further elevate its presence in these segments. At Caetano, we are dedicated to delivering top-notch services that exceed expectations and ensure the ultimate experience on the road. We extend a warm welcome to both existing and new Ford customers to our family.”

Caetano has outlined plans to offer comprehensive after-sales services for the Ford brand throughout Kenya via the Caetano Express network. These service centers will be fully equipped by the Ford Motor Company, ensuring the availability of authorized Ford parts.

Notably, Caetano Kenya holds exclusive local distribution rights for Hyundai, Renault, Kia, Renault Trucks, and now Ford vehicles in the Kenyan market. The Salvador Caetano Group, headquartered in Portugal with a rich history of over 75 years in the automotive sector, has a global presence spanning more than 100 countries across Europe and Africa.

Caetano Kenya, a conglomerate of companies within the Salvador Caetano Group, encompasses diverse activities in the automotive sector, including car maintenance and distribution, car rental, among others. This collaboration signifies a strategic move to further solidify Caetano’s position as a key player in the Kenyan automotive landscape.
