2023 MAZDA CX-60 PLUG-IN HYBRID: A FLAGSHIP SUV WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND ELEGANT DESIGN
Mazda introduces the groundbreaking 2023 Mazda CX-60 Plug-In Hybrid, marking the company’s inaugural foray into plug-in full hybrid technology tailored for the European market. As Mazda’s pinnacle model, the 2023 CX-60 PHEV seamlessly integrates exceptional design, Japanese craftsmanship, and cutting-edge human-centric technologies. Elevating its status further, this model features a state-of-the-art powertrain, solidifying its position as Mazda’s most formidable road car.
EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN INSPIRED BY JAPANESE AESTHETICS
The dynamic aesthetic of the CX-60 PHEV is a testament to the latest advancements in Kodo design, drawing inspiration from the Japanese concept of Ma. This design philosophy seamlessly integrates the space’s serene and dignified beauty with the robustness of the front-engine, rear-wheel-drive SUV architecture. Inside, the interior design embraces the principles of Kaichou and Musubu, harmonizing various materials and textures, including maple wood, Nappa leather, intricately crafted Japanese textiles, and chrome accents. The asymmetrical harmony of the maple wood trim, diverse patterns in the woven fabrics, and the traditional Japanese stitching technique Kakenui collectively contribute to the sophistication and premium essence of the CX-60’s interior.
ADVANCED HUMAN-CENTRIC TECHNOLOGIES
The Mazda CX-60 PHEV introduces an innovative Mazda Driver Personalization System, revolutionizing the driving experience by seamlessly identifying the driver and autonomously adapting crucial elements. This includes the seat position, steering wheel alignment, mirrors, Head-Up Display (HUD), as well as sound and climate control settings, all tailored to match the driver’s physique and personal preferences. Engineered to elevate the Jinba-Ittai driving philosophy, this system is meticulously crafted to meet the unique needs of each driver, enhancing the connection between the driver and the vehicle.
POWERFUL PLUG-IN HYBRID POWERTRAIN
The CX-60 PHEV is propelled by an advanced powertrain combination comprising a Skyactiv-G 2.5 four-cylinder direct injection petrol engine, a robust 100 kW electric motor, a cutting-edge eight-speed automatic transmission, and a high-capacity 355V, 17.8 kWh battery. This harmonious integration results in a formidable total system output of 327 PS/241 kW and an impressive torque of 500 Nm, enabling the CX-60 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in a swift 5.8 seconds. Despite its remarkable performance, the Mazda PHEV maintains exceptional environmental credentials, boasting a WLTP combined fuel consumption of merely 1.5l/100 km (approx. 157 mpg) and WLTP combined CO2 emissions of only 33g/km.
ENHANCED DRIVING DYNAMICS AND SAFETY FEATURES
The CX-60 PHEV embraces Mazda’s driver-centric philosophy, incorporating a range of elements that enhance driving dynamics. This includes a reinforced bodyshell for optimal rigidity, seats meticulously designed to promote occupant balance, a suspension system that stabilizes the vehicle’s posture, and the innovative Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system. Complementing these features, the vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced i-Activsense driver-assistance and safety technologies, to achieve a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating. Among the new active safety systems are See-Through View, Turn Across Traffic Assist, SBS-R pedestrian detection, Emergency Lane Keeping, i-Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC), and BSM Vehicle Exit Warning.
The all-new Mazda CX-60 PHEV is set to make its debut in four distinctive grades: PRIME-LINE, EXCLUSIVE-LINE, HOMURA, and TAKUMI. Each grade is characterized by its unique features and design elements, providing a diversified range of options for discerning customers. To further enhance customization, additional option packs will be available. Anticipated to hit showrooms starting September 2023, the 2023 Mazda CX-60 PHEV is poised to assert itself as the premier flagship SUV within Mazda’s extensive lineup.
